HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS
SECONDARY EDUCATION
PE Global can help you find your dream school. We often say “there is no perfect school, but there is a perfect school for you” and we mean it. In order to choose the right school, you need to choose an educational system first.
These are the program options:
International Baccalaureate (IB program) is the most popular, widely well known and recognised by all universities in the world. Based on the interests, country preference and spoken language, you will be able to choose your program among numerous IB schools worldwide.
GCSE and A-level are programs within the UK educational system. Should you make plans to study in some UK university, then this would be the perfect choice for you. Brits like to flaunt about their system, and they are true experts in fields of study after perfectly chosen A-level courses. Surely, this diploma can also lead you also to a non-UK university. Schools following British curriculum are not only based in the UK, but also in many European countries as well.
US diploma program is very popular among students. Choosing your subjects as per your interest and flexibility in learning, can truly be fun when you are a high school student. Be aware that you do not have to go to the United States to attend this type of school and diploma. There are American schools all over the Europe too.
Canadian diploma program is very similar to the US system. Canadian public system offers high quality education so both public and private schools can be chosen. Also, Canadian schools are not only located in Canada.
Abitur is a German system primarily created for those who want to study in Germany. Due to its complexity, beware to start early, preferably from grade 9 or 10 at the latest in order to achieve German diploma. This will open the door to German universities at low cost of 1000 euros per year. This is one of the best educational investments.
French bac and Swiss maturite are similar programs, depending on the country where completed. Same as in Abitur, it is highly advisable to start from grade 9. Should you complete 3-4 years in Switzerland and obtain Swiss diploma, you will be trilingual and also qualified to study at prestigious Swiss university at a low cost. Just be aware of the high living costs in this country.
Switzerland is one of the most popular countries for high schools. Moreover, most schools offer IB program comparing to Swiss program, as it is international and due to diversity of people living in this country where three official languages are spoken.
Most of the high schools abroad we work with are boarding schools. That means that you live and study at one place (campus style schools that resemble college). Should you want an short experience only, exchange programs are organised in public schools and living in host families.
